How long is the exhibit going to be up? I'm going to Tokyo in November.

The Tokyo subway system is wonderful. Just don't ride during rush hour. The entrances/exits can be confusing, though. We were always going out the wrong exit, and had to hunt for our hotel. Tokyo is a fairly easy city to navigate. Major signs are in both Japanese and Romanized English, and there are little police kiosks everywhere willing to help. There are also cool surprises you can find when walking around--from neat manhole covers to a Godzilla statue outside a McDonald's.

Credit cards are accepted, but it is still pretty much a cash economy when it comes to everyday things, such as meals and purchases.

If you have a free day, I recommend taking the train to Nikko, north of Tokyo. It is a National Park/shrine area, and one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Watch out for the snow monkeys, though.
